EMERGENCY DEPLOYABLE FLOATATION SYSTEM
Richard Fryberg, internationally reknown for designing unique bouancy systems for uses around the world. Subsalve is on board the Sail Twice Around Team developing a floatation system for Inspired Insanity that will deploy in case of holing or other situation where II is taking on water. The purpose is to provide research and testing for gear that will ultimately change the sailing cruising world enabling sailors/yachtsmen the time to make repairs and be able to dewater their boat to proceed on. This kind of innovation will move safety preparations a step forward.

EMERGENCY KITE
Working with international kite builders, the Sail Twice Around Team will develop a Kite for use in case of dismasting or light winds. The key is to develop a deployment and re-capture system and an attachment system that will work on a displacement hull that has lost its mast. The photo is the Outleader Kite developed for the America Cup 2003 by David Culp.
